If you are anything like me, you are in a band and trying to use Linux to record and mix music. If this is the case, you are awesome :D Unfortunately, your awesomeness fails to correct the issue where you can't find a decent program in Linux for you to record and mix your tracks. Well, today is your lucky day, friends, because it just so happens that there are two programs for you to use that will let you rock out hard!
Audacity is an excellent lightweight sound editor that is available for Mac OSX, Windows, and Linux. You can do virtually anything you want to with this program. You can record, play back, and do anything else you can think of with a sound file in this program. You can even export your tracks as OGGs and MP3s (need LAME installed). The only thing that Audacity lacks is a decent way to mix music. As such, I mainly use it for recording. Audacity's >> albersblog.wordpress.com
