While I vastly prefer Gnome's apps to KDE's, Gnome's user interface naziism has always been a bit of a sore spot for me.  They prefer to limit your desktop choices, at the time of this writing to such an extent that you can't even change the preferences for your screensavers.  Their justification is that they are more about sensible defaults that everyone can live with rather than letting you do whatever you want with your interface.  I understand their position (and not worrying about eye candy certainly gives the devs more time to focus on other things), but this is the kind of attitude that at times pisses me off so badly about Windows.  To be... ... read more >>> lostsync.wordpress.com
